I drink in and around Micklegate every night but cannot place Reflex. However if one is guaranteed a sh*g, I shall make a concerted effort to find it on Thursday (bring my good threads down Thursday morning).
Its an hour from Central Station plus a twenty minute walk. In all its 2 hours each way door to door (i.e. 20 hours a week commuting, and only then if I time it right). Whereas I can stay in digs and take a 5 minute stroll into work. After work I can take a 5 minute stroll into the pub. I often...
Get the 07:20 from Newcastle every Monday.
Been to most bars and there are some gems. Mind I went to one bar in the centre last week (just a few minutes walk from the hotel you mentioned earlier) and all the blokes were dressed as women. I didn't realsise at first. I just thought they were...
Just had a walk into York (i'm now soaked right through) and the Kings Arms is still alive and well. I think I'll be a one bar man tonight (and not the Kings Arms)
I've got an interview for a 6 to 12 monther in Athens next week. The rate is only about 60% of what I would earn in the UK but I fancy the experience.
Has anyone worked there (or currently working). What can you tell me regarding cost of living and tax implications etc.
Cheers
Nope you are not King. I am.
I've got at least 2.5 times your debt. I live in a council house and cannot get by from one month to another. Never had a penny savings in my life. I'm not exactly young either. Been contracting nearly 8 years. I've slowed down a bit now and reckon I should have my...
I was in York on my ownsome last night as well. Found two bars selling Sam Smiths at less than 1.40 a pint. Went into one bar absolutely wall to wall with teenage beauties. Had the hotest chicken Jalfraizi (sp) i've ever had and tulip the bed.
As of two weeks time I will be doing my nightly (during the week) drinking in York.
I don't live in Sunderland but from what you said on an earlier thread I'd reckon there are 5 or 6 miles between us.
Any more tips on pubs in York? :freaky:
If you go to York by train you might see me, as according to something you posted yesterday - we live very close. Keep an eye out for a Geordie Oracle contractor (probably older than you) on his nightly pub crawl.
Although I've lurked here from time to time over the years i've never felt an urge to post. I still don't. However since i'm starting a 6 monther in York in a couple of weeks - this thread has obviously caught my attention.
Tell me more aboput the bars ... :talk:
