Just got an ICO begging letter

They must be doing a scan against company house records, as I also got one yesterday. I filled in the online assessment, and obviously I only store Invoice data which is Core Business and so it said I didn’t need to pay, but I can if I wanted. LOL. Why? Anyhow u must remember to fill in their...

Fixed term contract & dividend payments?

The rate at which you pay higher Tax is also related to the amount you pay into your pension pot(s) also. This raises the limit you start paying Tax at a Higher rate. So, if you've put £8,000 into a personal pension pot, then this will raise the limit you pay lower Tax by £10,000, as an example.

    IR35 Insurance Permanent Role

I'd probably keep IPSE going as long as they have Perkbox! I think I get my money back just on Savings I make with Avant West Coast! Plus all the other benefits. Saved alot on Sky recently and with a cashback! I do, however, miss the Free Cafe Nero Coffee per month!

    State of the Market

Did you not get this bit on the email today also: "If you set up a 'Time to Pay' arrangement, you will have to pay interest on the tax paid late. Interest will be applied to any outstanding balance from 1 February 2021"

Have done this one? Time to pay for SA tax bills online.

You pay interest as from Feb 1st on the outstanding Tax. Anyone know how that is calculated?

    Contracting and taxes in Netherlands

Been 3 years since I did a gig in the wonderful city of Amsterdam, like to think it might be my 2nd home! But it never was ‘home’ technically back then. Do people still not apply Scale Rate? Simplifies your expenses & back then it was €210 Room rate per night, well technically 24 hours spent there.

    Outside IR35 rates coming down

This. Same situation which people often overlook. A lot of my work is based out of London. I am currently lucky enough to be able to remote so I’m only on site 40% of the time at the moment, and actually this for other reasons too, but my expenses are still a fair whack of my turnover. 20-30%...

QDOS Contract failed CEST online test - where did I go wrong?

Why were you involved in the CEST in the first place? I’d be dubious about having an existing QDOS approved contract (which as it happens I do!) & then having any hand in answering questions which would cause it to then fail come April. Wouldn’t even go there!

New Contract in the Netherlands & NEW questions

This doesn't apply to me specifically as mentioned above the 30/70 arrangement made locally here keeps the Dutch Hector happy, but the part of the tax treaty which I guess would cover you is the same as when any UK based company sends you on a trip to an overseas client. If part of your job is...

New Contract in the Netherlands & NEW questions

Well I'm sorry it went wrong for Stek, but I can only relay my experience regarding this specific contract arrangement.

New Contract in the Netherlands & NEW questions

I appreciate your opinion, but come back to you for what? This is a real world example in practice. It's the only way you can efficiently use your Ltd company to do short contracts abroad. You could never work directly from your Ltd as then it's get very complicated indeed. What is your actual...
