Tired of frequent rises in monthly fees, I recently moved over to Maslins from Workwell (where I had been a customer for over ten years and gone through numerous acquisitions). The switch was fairly painless and I have found Maslins to be excellent value for money with a great service provision.
Current direct gig extended to end of June '22. Outside IR35 and decent rate. Market seems pretty active at the moment, but no sense as to why anything is deemed outside or inside.
I don't agree. If 9 out of 10 contractors were "employees in disguise" in a way that would stand up to scrutiny (as opposed to your arbitrary view) then HMRC would have cleaned up a long time ago.
Imagine the frustration at HMRC. 90% of contractors are just "employees in disguise" and yet the VAST majority of IR35 cases they've taken to court have been lost. Or maybe case law doesn't support your numbers.
I wonder just how many of these BigCo's that put everyone onto payroll will be surprised when those same people who used to be busy delivering as contractors suddenly start to behave more like permanent resources who have the safety net of sick days, can't be arsed etc etc.

Even if the answer is yes, what's the option for a department to scale up for a true temporary requirement/project then? Additional permanent staff headcount? What about when the project is completed? Round of redundancies? Complete chaos.
If the changes come in as per the consultation details it will be a complete disaster for all involved.
I've already turned down a role at the Bank of England because of the potential changes coming into the Public Sector. Can't see any aware contractors wanting to be involved in the car crash...
