'IPSE Friendly' contract failed by QDOS

I can see now why you have that avatar. Thankfully some other IPSE members have been really helpful. I will let them know how it goes with the agency.

'IPSE Friendly' contract failed by QDOS

Jeez...what's up with you? I realise I'm not entitled to see the templates, but only asking for a yea or nay about one clause rather than a "doesn't seem to be" . I am in touch with QDOS about it all.... this was just an aside as the agency started quoting IPSE at me.

'IPSE Friendly' contract failed by QDOS

I've already paid QDOS thanks. All I was asking if the clause is the same as the IPSE one. If it isn't, then the agency is being a bit free with their 'We use IPSE IR35 friendly contracts' line, and IPSE might like to know about it. Or should I have joined before pointing it out?.

'IPSE Friendly' contract failed by QDOS

Thanks. Be great if someone with access to the IPSE template substitution clause could tell me what it DOES say so's I can get back to the agency.

'IPSE Friendly' contract failed by QDOS

I have QDOS TLC35 cover, and sent my latest contract to be reviewed by them. It was boderline fail , mainly to do with the Substitution clause. I sent the QDOS summary to the agency and asked for a rewording of the clause as suggested by QDOS. Agency came back with 'Firstly, it has to be noted...

No To Retro Tax - Ongoing battle against S58 FA2008

Not everyone would agree with that, especially WG and employees of Montpelier who have been disproportionately targeted by HMRC for years. I'm sure they don't consider it 'laughable'. Anyway, best keep to the point, which is winning at the FTTT.

    Payroll provider in the Netherlands

Still doesn't make much sense to me. I still don't see why you are setting up a UK Ltd The Dutch payroll company will pay you (net of all Dutch taxes and other contributions) as an individual, not your Ltd. It's almost impossible to work through a Ltd these days over there with a single client...

No To Retro Tax - Ongoing battle against S58 FA2008

I understand this is a public forum and restraint is needed. However I also understand how strongly a lot of us affected by this, feel towards the 'people' that have put us through the mill and continue to do so. This is highlighted by the latest ploy of trying to criminalise all of us in a...

No To Retro Tax - Ongoing battle against S58 FA2008

Hello HMRC  I'd just like to say I'm sorry I didn't take your Mr Hartnett out for long expensive lunches 10 years or so ago, to discuss my tax affairs, like several of our leading Chief Executives did. He seemed happy with them paying a minor percentage of their companies profits to...

No To Retro Tax - Ongoing battle against S58 FA2008

IR35 may or may not apply to a particular contract. Some contracts may have been in IR35, others may not have been. Saying you were inside years ago on a contract, in no way means you were in all subsequent contracts.

No To Retro Tax - Ongoing battle against S58 FA2008

We want the TAA to apply. Re-read the latest NTRT newsletters and you will see why.

No To Retro Tax - Ongoing battle against S58 FA2008

I think that's exactly want NTRT want. And it's more of a vendetta against one particular promoter rather than the contracting body as a whole (with respect to S58 anyway).

The Fading Distinction Between Tax Avoidance and Tax Evasion

Broadly agree. And the 'spirit', 'interpretation' or whatever of the law should be decided by the judiciary, not by HMRC, self-serving politicians, the Daily Mail or the court of public opinion.
