    Contractor tax cheats

I've just come across a right muppet and cheat who has been contracting for the last 3 years and has some how managed to get away with getting paid directly into his personal bank account. Though in theory allowed and still possible to manage your company financial lin this way, somehow I doubt...

2 x Perm jobs at once

What exactly does "see" mean here? Does someone in HR get a notification? Does a system flag it? I mean if the whole PAYE process is automatic these days, it shouldn't really stick out right? Thanks

2 x Perm jobs at once

Hi guys, I'm already in perm employment but been fearing the chop for a while. An opportunity has arrived to work for another company part time (4 hours per day, evening shifts, all remote). In years gone by, I would be a contractor being paid through my Ltd but the company insists it will have...

    Any settlement figures yet?

Just called them and got through first time (miracle of all miracles). The guy could see I sent in my filled in forms back in September but he can't work out why no one's sent me a settlement plan as it's been 6 months. He said quite clearly, in any case anyone who has been in contact does not...

    Any settlement figures yet?

Thanks. I did agree to the settlement. Willing to pay it but as I work in a totally different industry now on a modest permanent salary I requested repayment of 10k over 3 years. To that I've had no response. Almost 6 months now. Just tried calling again, it is impossible to get through to anyone.

    Any settlement figures yet?

I received my numbers back in September 2018, sent a reply seeking a repayment plan, chased up three times in email and once over the phone. Not had anything back. What can HMRC expect of me come 5th April?

So who did BA outsource their IT to?

Sir, our upgradation project last night was not a major success. I will revert back accordingly with plan of action. In the meantime, please do the needful. Yours truly, Twat Computing Services

Working/Child Tax Credit - Why are they paying me so much?

Are any of you in the weird situation where the combined child/working tax credits paid to you and your spouse is fast approaching the same number as your basic monthly salary? I've been doing something else with my life for the last 18 months and therefore no income other than a basic salary...

Company data check websites that make you Googleable

Hi all, First of all let me declare that I know the obvious... For a UK Ltd company, there is no hiding and a director's name address is public information. However, what I am challenging is the true meaning of "public". If something is public that shouldn't necessarily mean you can get to it...

Impact of AWR on latest method of hiring pilots

OK, so after some more digging around, it turns out that the pilots become "Managing Directors" of a Ltd company in Ireland along with about 50 other "Managing Directors" for the same company (all Pilots providing services to easyJet). They have to use one of three accountants who assign them...

Impact of AWR on latest method of hiring pilots

Hello Peeps, I left IT contracting last year to take up my new post in the Aviation world. I left at around the time AWR was being introduced and although the management where I was working moved me from umbrella to Ltd quite early on (they had obviously shat their pants nice and early) I never...
