Hays contracts and IR35
I left my gig with hays partly because their contract failed and they wouldn't change the contract or T&c's as everyone else was on them or up the money to cover the extra tax burden. Their t&C mainly name me and not my company, to much controll and the substitution clause which had to be...- mictech

Job market...
Thank SA, I know somethink will come along. Hate having to deal with the agent and time wasting, but if you want the money, you have to put up with the sh!t. I'm not one to sitting around the house, even for a week or two. -

where has all the work gone ?
Like we all have time to taylor our CV's for all the contract postions we apply for, you are getting contractors who are there to do a job and you need to make sure they have the right tool set. Not what they would like to do in the future leave that for your permies.- mictech

Nightmare of a choice up north, three to choose from three labour and one independant. no stuff on the independant but had to be a better choice than labour. -
Job market...
On the bench for a week myself now, everythings sc/dv cleared work, I wish they would just drop the line "willing to go through clearance" on the adds and just say you must have clearance, would save me loads of waste phone calls. Trying to get a company to put me through clearance waiting on... -

HMRC Investigation - update.
Best of luck with your investigation. I can't see how they can claim that you were a permie myself, otherwise most of us would be in the same boat. Didn't you have insurance from investigation cover from anyone? Where you on paye or div's while at manchester, as 11k seams a bit steep for just... -
Due to start on Monday - haven't seen a contract yet
I wouldn't worry about not having a contract for upto the end of the play of next week. It will give you time to scope out the gig, work out how the working pratices stand with IR35 and if you hate it you can walk away no strings attached or sting them for more money to stop you walking out.- mictech
