Hi,
Question as title: MyCo was liquidated in Sept' 2018 and I want to know what date it is safe to shred and bin all the paperwork ? Ditched the accountant around the same time so not able to talk to him about it...
Thanks,
I think you mean go and work for Jane Street on a permanent basis ? Can you (or anybody) give ballpark estimates for what equivanent salaries would be at JS compared to contract day rates elsewhere in the City for similar roles ? I've been trying to break into the financial sector for a while...
If the OP wants to know the actual reason s/he was terminated by their original client it might be worth making a Subject Access Request (see here). This will mean that at least the disclosure on the SC application and any info provided to the SC service by that client match. It is just...
Incidental personal use of company equipment or premises does not give rise to a tax liability. HMRC guidance (don't have link to hand, sorry) states that incidentalness does *not* depend on proportion of use but upon how necessary the equipment is in respect of its prime company purpose and...
Leaving aside the reasons for doing it, can anyone tell me whether if I pay in money to a pension scheme from, eg an inheritance, where the sum was more than the normal annual £40k allowance I would be charged tax on it ? Is that even possible ?
Also, can anyone give me the calculation workings...
The only "complexity of the case" that was not in my OP was the fact that the item concerned was a development platform which was the subject of the services. That is in fact crucial (in my limited understanding) but none of the replies mentioned it so relying on that now does seem to be 20/20...
An agreement was reached, confirmed in writing and the equipment sent back. Actual payment was a few days later but I was happy all was going to go ahead OK which proved to be the case.
No insurance and actually no bill either, surprisingly. I used a solicitor I had used before for the advice...
I don't see why it's a useless idea ? The £500 would be an additional cash sum on top of what they would be getting from any other contractor they placed so quite welcome I'd have thought ?
Anyone else have an opinion ?
Well I took legal advice on this and thought I'd post an update : my solicitor said that because the equipment provided to me was an embedded platform and was the subject of the work provided by MyCo (it ran the software I supplied to them under the contract) there did indeed exist a lien on...
Hi,
I know the agencies sometimes pay fees to contractors for finding them candidates they later place but does anyone here pay a "finders' fee" to a favoured agent for finding them work ? I'm benched and I was thinking of offering £500 out of first paid invoice to any agent who can get me a...
I have a client who is disputing an invoice on the grounds the work was unsatisfactory. Obviously I dispute that but that is not what I am posting about. My client lent me some equipment and is now seeking its return but I am holding off returning it pending payment of the disputed invoice...

Hello all,
As you may have guessed I didn't get it together in time to contest the case so I'd like to pay the money instead.
Obviously to anyone reading it did go to court and I lost but can anyone tell me how I go about paying and making sure the...
