I used Vistaprint the first time and MOO the second time. MOO was far more expensive but the cards are fantastic and really help me to stand out. Perhaps it depends why you are getting the cards. If you do lots of networking I would suggest MOO - but if you are doing it to show you are a real...
She will need to fill in a tax return to declare her dividends and to pay extra tax (if any) which results from that. Extra tax would be payable if her earnings plus dividends take her over the 40% tax bracket (around 43k pa).
What I did was to issue the next invoice and mark a payment against it, which was the extra payment from the previous invoice. This makes your accounts correct.
So overpayment of x00 : next invoice y000 : next invoice says y000 but shows a payment already made of x00 leaving a balance of y000-x00
Why not just declare the dividends to be half each retrospectivly and make sure the paperwork represents this? You could then say the extra money you took was a director's loan, pay it back and then pay your partner her dividends?
Having written this it sounds a bit complicated. But I...
I also do my own accounts and I use FreeAgent to help me - which does the flat rate scheme and is suitable for a Mac as it is all online. I find it an excellent solution. You can try it for a month free. It's a bit more pricy than some of the other options discussed on here though.
(If you...
I have been overpaid my my client in the past too. I credited the money against the next invoice. Have a chat with the agency and see what they would prefer to do.
You can't account for this and so you can't keep it (morally you shouldn't keep it anyway IMHO).
My understanding is that each employment you have (even if concurrent) is treated separately for NI purposes. So you could have lots of jobs each earning you £7k and you wouldn't pay any NI. However, whilst I know this is true for people with concurrent jobs I am only assuming that it also...
Why not just pay yourself a salary from your company? National Insurance starts again for each job you have so you don't have to worry about that costing you anything. You can get salary in and just pay PAYE tax - which is the same as you'll end up paying on dividends anyway.
Sounds like the shop was outside the law there. When you buy something it has to be satisfactory, as described, fit for purpose and last a reasonable length of time. Sounds like yours wasn't fit for purpose.
There's a guide here.
I don't think this was about you querying the contract at all - this is quite normal and I don't think it would have raised eyebrows. It seems to me that this was about asking to meet the client team. If they are happy with a phone interview and want you on site quickly they could see that...
Also, if you started running your online shop separately from your limited co then you would owe it money. You'd need to buy the domain and pay for work done to set it up. You can't just take it.
This is true. However, it is worth noting that it won't make much difference if you do pay yourself a salary of 7475 this year, even though you have already earnt money. The income tax will work out the same as tax on dividends anyway. Also, my understanding is that each employment is treated...
You can register online for VAT yourself - it's actually very easy. However, you will need to have a government gateway login for your company first. If you don't have it yet then it'll take a couple of week all told as there are a number of letters to be received.
