Raising very late invoices and Corporation Tax treatment

Thanks for this. I am pretty sure mine said invoice within 60 days and if you do not you will only get paid once agency has been paid by client. I will recheck the contract tonight to be certain. Think my records show invoices mostly raised except for one, so I am hoping all will be ok.

Raising very late invoices and Corporation Tax treatment

Thanks. Over what period can the bad debt be used. Eg if I have 10k bad debt, corp tax year 1 is 3k, year 2 is 3k, year 3 is 3k, year 4 is 3k, does this result in only paying corp tax for year 4 at 2k? I will follow up with my accountant on this as he should be aware of this. Thanks everyone...

Raising very late invoices and Corporation Tax treatment

Hey, Its all precursor work to get everything sorted. I phoned HMRC for Corporation Tax and the person just seemed rude and said send something in writing. I told them I am making you aware of my circumstances before you contact me as a proactive course of action. He just said put it in...

Raising very late invoices and Corporation Tax treatment

Thanks Craig, that clarifies. It is interesting that VAT is charged differently to Corp Tax based on whether I received the money or not. As I have not received the money I have been told for VAT I can pay it to VAT man once I get it. However, for Corp Tax it appears I have to pay it even if...

Raising very late invoices and Corporation Tax treatment

Thanks for reply. To be fair I have not disregarded the accountants advice just questioned it, and in the case of fines I appear right to have done so. I have not used this accountant before and so I am just seeking second opinions if the situation does not appear clear cut. Regarding...

Raising very late invoices and Corporation Tax treatment

Hi, My company was dissolved due to me not filing accounts with companies house on time due to ill health. Due to illness I am also owed a substantial amount of money but unable to invoice from a previous contract that was carried out just before the company and even during the period when the...

Issuing dividends during period company dissolved which will be restored

Yes that is true. I am not trying to do anything wrong, hence trying to get a view from experts. Having said that the nature of my illness meant that prior to company dissolving I was still working and trying to continue life as normal but I still wasn't able to keep on top of a lot of other...

Issuing dividends during period company dissolved which will be restored

Thanks for reply. Yes keen to try and declare the dividend to use my lower rate tax credit for the period. The case is unusual as I am now doing all these late tax returns for previous years covering previous income but the process of simply administrating what I would have done at the time if...

Issuing dividends during period company dissolved which will be restored

Hi all, I have been running a Ltd company for a few years but due to ill health was unable to file accounts with Companies House or Corp Tax Returns with HMRC for several years during which I was forced to stop contracting. The company was struck off / dissolved as company accounts were not...

Switching from Umbrella to Ltd mid contract or vice versa

Hi all, Is it possible to switch from an Umbrella company to a Ltd company mid contract or even before the actual contract work has begun? The contract is between myself and an agency with the agency having an agreement with the end client. Also if I had started on a contract for a month...

Anyone here working in an investment bank? If so, was wondering what your experience was of finding these types of roles. Cheers.

    Finding a contract role

Now now! I realise my bad ways and hence have come to the conclusion that the only smart thing to do is go contracting. I have had enough of the politics, ridiculous hours, no reward blah blah. I simply want to do my work and be paid. Surely you can empathise? PS: This is in response to...
