Downgrading OEM Windows 8 to 7: Anyone done it?
Before you use the laptop, wipe it and install Windows 7 from scratch. Simple. You don't need to "downgrade" an operating system that you have never used. -

Who dual boots Windows * with some sort of Linux
You don't start your laptop using BIOS or UEFI; you start your operating system. If you have installed Windows using UEFI then you can then install Linux with rEFInd, using the Windows EFI partition. -
