Automating receipts into FreeAgent: built a tool, looking for feedback

thanks. So in theory, a malicuious attacker who accessed AWS and/or the source code repo, they could then have it use the saved tokens to extract all data from all your customers' Freeagent databases and exfiltrate? That's not a criticism by the way, there's always a weak point, and key to...

Automating receipts into FreeAgent: built a tool, looking for feedback

I have a few questions. - Have you had it pen tested? And if not do you intend to? - If your app get's hacked (see pentest question) what risk does that pose to my information? - What monitoring do you have in place so that if it is hacked, you are aware and can do something about it?

    Transfer-restriction clause

Drawing dividends from company that isn't invoicing

basically you cannot use pension in year X+1 to offset corp tax from year x. If the pension is in the same year as the profit you're all good. But not the next year. Well you can still pay pension but you're going to struggle to get the CT back so what's the point?

    The Letby Case

Like most people on the internet I have no specialist knowledge of either the law, or the medicine in this case. Unlike most people on the internet, I understand my lack of knowledge and have no opinion on the facts of the case. However...... The idea that there has been a miscarriage of...

    Closing LTD and moving abroad

if you have less than £25k in the company maybe think about a strike off. You will pay capital gains tax, which is lower tax rate than income tax. And may even be eligible for BADR which is even lower.

Bank of England Base rate & other news

It's not supposed to be about necessities. The biggest oddity of CPI measurement is it includes VAT (not on food obvs). If government wants to drop inflation by 10% they simply halve the VAT rate. The suggestion that the Tories have cooked the books on this is mind bogglingly brain dead though.

    Recommendations for Stock Broker platform

if you want super-powered gambling then use a leveraged platform. You bet $10, they 'add' $90 to your buy. So you now have $100. If you sell at $150 you pay them back $90 plus a fee (say $5), and you keep $45. Turning $10 into $45 for a stick that has only increased by 50% is tempting no? I...

Company car ownership - logistical question

if you google "VAT company car" the first link has your answer. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/vat-on-motoring-expenses-notice-70064 Section 6 is https://www.gov.uk/guidance/vat-on-motoring-expenses-notice-70064#private-use-of-cars-or-other-vehicles-and-charges-to-employees And yes VAT needs to...

Five months into role and wrong contract was provided at outset - no one noticed.

a contract can be worded to sound like outside but still be inside. That's kind been HMRC's view for over 20 years. So OP is inside and has accepted those terms.
