Just a small observation, my wife is a registered child minder, and so we both had to have a check from the local Care Commission (more like cup of tea and a quick chat), and have a Full Disclosure check run against us. This was a joke, I actually got a call from them asking if I had ever...
Thanks guys - thinking Websphere now. Final question - I have a couple of routes to take, developing using Rational Application Developer, or just straight java - advice please.
Here's the deal - I've had an extremely good run with contracts as a Lotus Notes/Domino developer (12 yrs+ with no bench time). Got all the necessary skills - HTML/CSS/JS/Java etc.
Question for today is where should I be looking to cross train to. My gut feel is for websphere, but not sure of...
I've dealt with CPS Resourcing in the past - if you Google them they are easy to find. As recruiters the specialise in PM's for contract and permies. Not dealt with them for a couple of years though.
Hi all,
I've been contracting for the last 12 years, mainly as a developer, with some BA/PM thrown in. My current gig will probably only last until the end of this year, so looking to glam up the old CV to start looking in the New Year.
I've seen Prince2 courses advertised, selling a 5 day...
Contractors and recruitment agencies who deal with any specialist providers of services to one man limited companies, regardless of whether they are regulated by an accountancy body or not, will be risking financial ruin, under legislation published in the Finance Bill, warns giant group plc...
I worked for the Sopra arm last year, they were really still acting as 2 seperate companies then. Decent enough company, normal consultancy so they expect to put the hours in, and rates were normal for London.
Only know of one consultant who was investigated, he actually calimed the inspector was very helpful!! He pointed out a couple of areas where he wasn't claiming full entitlement, and also some grey areas that he might want to reconsider claiming for but overall was cleared.
Suppose it depends...
Firstly let me make this clear - I am NOT a pimp.
Now I have got that off my chest - any of you guys out there Notes/Domino developers. If so, and you fancy a gig in Aberdeen drop me a PM and I can give you details as my current client is currently looking for a decent dev for at least 3...
For me agents are simply a means of introducing me to clients, and an invoice factoring service. I have just renewed with my current client (4th contract), and the agencies involvement was nil. The renewal process was simply the client asking if I was going to stay on the same terms I am...
Anyone ever contracted through Abrecco in Edinburgh? Not been overly impressed with them during the recruitment process - however they have sorted out a contract for me, so the usual questions. Do they pay on time? Are they reliable?
I have just accessed the site without problems, and was able to access yesterday also. I was also paid yesterday, therefore no problems from here.
What was in the email of 10/07 as I never received this?
Are you with Giant Powerhouse?
My understanding is yes you can, as that is the designated IR rate.
The client is not payinf 25p per mil to you, it is paying it to your Ltd Co.
The arangement between your Ltd Co (not you) has with the client should not affect the arrangement between yourself and your Ltd Co.
