    My future in 'the cloud'

I think at the moment a lot of companies are moving to SaaS products such as Office 365 and experimenting with bits of their infrastructure in the cloud (IaaS). However, IaaS generally turns out to be more expensive than on-premise and with caveats regarding availability. E.g Azure will only...

    Royal Mail float

So if you have bought through a broker such as HL then you should find out tomorrow morning how many shares you have received. Conditional trading starts at 8am and you can trade during that period until unconditional starts on Tuesday. What do people think will happen to the share price during...

    XBMC

From what I've read it's probably worth buying an ATV3 now as the thoughts are that once (if) a Jailbreak for it is released they will update the software on all future ones to stop the jailbreak working. They're about £85 on ebay atm so I'll probaby get one and then just sell it again if they...

    XBMC

Meant to be very good on Apple TV2 although they are now going for silly money on Ebay compared with what they were before ATV3 was released. Loads of info on here - http://forum.xbmc.org/index.php I'm holiding out in the hope that Seas0nPass manage to jailbreak the ATV3...

    BT Infinity - any good

I got BT infinity installed a few months ago after getting awful speeds on ADSL2 and have been very impressed. I get download speeds of 30mb+ and even the BT home hub has been faultless despite not having a brilliant reputation. Luckily I have had no need to use customer services yet!

    Any Excel gurus out there?

Yep - Going to disable the accounts, move them to a seperate OU and then see if anyone shouts! Shouldn't be too many issues as got reports from WSUS, Symantec Management console etc so can cross reference results.

    Any Excel gurus out there?

I need to tidy up an active directory environment and want to delete old computer accounts from AD. I've got 4 lists of computer names from different scripts and reports which I have now got in Excel on 4 different worksheets. I have a list of 1200 machine names which I want to search against...

    New Kitchen

I would personally avoid B&Q and Homebase with there permanent 50% off sales and are both flat-pack units. There's a trade only company called Howden's who do pretty good quality pre-assembled units at good prices if you are trade. (Although discounts vary a lot depending on if you use them...

Any Service Account Managers out there?

Thanks for all the responses. I agree with a lot of what has been said - ITIL is a very boring thing to study but equally I know it's something I could do and there does seem to be a demand for it. Been doing support to third line level for 10 + years now but my heart is not really in it and am...
