The government know of all workers that self-employed and limited company directors are least likely to put up any kind of protest.
I think it's time we organised a very strong protest that sends the government a very clear message. I'm thinking we all organise a 'sign-up as jobless' week and...
Agreed. They have Scala and microservices so thats 2 'hot' technologies, shame they can't correctly define a CSV file https://github.com/hmrc/off-payroll-decision/blob/master/conf/tables/1.0.1-beta/matrix-of-matrices.csv
FWIW, I have always insisted on a < 2 week notice period. If ClientCo want longer then I tell them the contract would need to explicitly state that if client serves notice they must pay for all working days up until the end of the notice period whether they require work or not. 3 clients have...
I once worked next to a guy who was on £550/day for developing contact forms for a client in the South West. I had the same thought.
Would take him 3-4 days to develop a basic (and I do mean basic) contact form and for whatever reason his stuff never showed up properly in the .NET form...
I'm sure you've all seen this posted on another thread: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/526614/Off-payroll_working_public_sector-reform_intermediaries_legislation.pdf and this little nugget (emphasis is mine):

1. Hit some big end-users with PAYE penalties => "Oh this wouldn't happen if you'd used our wonderfully clear digital tool that'll tell you who to run PAYE for (hint: everyone)."
2. Threaten agencies with the same => "Oh...
If HMRC acknowledge there was a problem with serving notices then they have to re-issue everyone (since they can't work out who has and has not been served). And if they call you, everyone ought to just say 'yes, we've received correspondence from HMRC' and promptly hang up.
It gets more...
Well an APN arrived some days ago. Odd thing: it is addressed to an individual I've no connection with (totally different name and address to me). Forwarded on immediately to Montp.
I suspect that may be why HMRC bods are busy trying to call people to find out who received one and who didn't...
Get's even better. When the finger gets pointed at HMRC they will throw their liquidator under the bus.
HMRC and the Abuse of Power: MPs Plan to Liquidate the Liquidators
HMRC tax injustice: London businessman attempted suicide over 'evasion' vendetta as super-rich HSBC dodgers went free
No need to say more really. Very sad to read.:devil
So who decided they were trustworthy enough to issue APNs with very little right to challenge?
The BBC now get it?
The BBC now get it?
BBC News - When is tax dodging illegal?
Maybe someone needs to send in a correction about that last bit in light of s58...
Whilst not related to us I found this article on the BBC a good read: BBC News - Calls for single 30% income tax rate
The article didn't mention tax avoidance implications but I'm sure it would be reduced if there was a very simple rate of tax for all. It would provide clarity and certainty if...
