Is buying residential property now unwise?
Put in equal money to buy the house with a planned amount of time to keep it etc. But no one can guarantee that there circumstances wont change theirs did and had to sell there half. So we came out of it worse off. Prior to that it was already straining as although the investment was equal they...- ITblows

rainy day fund (warchest...) and house deposit
I dropped to around 6 months when moving house but prefer to stick to 12 Months, I don't think I would feel comfortable with less than 12 months with the uncertainty about at the moment- ITblows

The only rule around this i'm aware of is if your on flat rate VAT you should pay the appropriate percentage based on the main source of income for the company. https://www.gov.uk/vat-flat-rate-scheme/how-much-you-pay whether this is relevant or disadvantageous is obviously based on your situation- ITblows
