Contract - must be a director???

I wish I had found this site earlier. You could have saved my company thousands and I would have not had to have hired a PA to correct my spelling :laugh In seriousness with the transfer of debt provision looming over agencies and end client's heads if dodgy offshore umbrella go pop without...

Client gone bust =- should I still get paid?

You may find your agency has the right to terminate if their client goes in to administration or equivalent. If they don't you are entitled to notice. In most instances they will have to give you notice in writing, if they haven't ask for it and review against contract.

Contract - must be a director???

When the Finance Act came in agencies received advice from a number of well respected tax advisors. Agency in Breach of Contract ?

The agency have made a commercial agreement with you not to force any action in respect of you working direct for the client. What they will probably have in place is an agreed transfer fee with the client, generally these are set quite high to make it uneconomic for the clients to take you...

    Contract Question

Weekly / Monthly pay is a commercial negociation up front. If you signed up you should do it. Have you asked your current agency whether they can do weekly payments? Clearly the client won't have issue with Weekly timesheets if they are doing it with the other agency.

    Getting Reference

Use a previous manager. At all points never slag off your current manager though, use an excuse such as: "He hates giving references" "I don't want him to know I am looking / He was very disappointed when I left"

    Nine Direct Agency Beware!!

If you pay peanuts...... All contracts should state payment terms, if they don't you shouldn't sign.
