BlastedBates has pretty much nailed it. I probably won't be able to discuss why I failed with the officials which is why I came here - to look with people with experience in this process to identify potential issues I might have. I thought it was obvious from the title but it's for an SC clearance. I could maybe understand if they refused me if I was actually working for them but I'm just doing research on an unclassified thesis.
