Got this in some email from ContractorFinancials, not that I use them for anything:
Been used to H-L, much as I like them, scaremongering about the end of higher rate tax relief for some time but this tighter annual cap sounds much more likely than abolishing it altogether.
It would mean a...
I'd be amazed if most self employed tradesmen pay tax on more than 50% of what they actually earn. Try finding anyone to work on your house who will actually take a cheque for payment.
Exactly, that's the whole point. It changed sometime ago but the voters themselves didn't realise what was going on. They are only just getting it. That is thanks to the biggest propaganda machine since Hitler and Stalin were in power, including the full complicity of the trade unions supposed...
Just watched the whole lot on Sky, I think this is a really significant cock up that could affect poll ratings. It shows the contempt with which he views normal people that he purports to represent.
I just hope it sinks in with the fools that still support Labour. As Simon Heffer states...
There can't be many contractors starting out who can afford to take dividends only once a year. I shifted from monthly to quarterly once I had enough in reserve.
According to recent polls 30% of the public don't know who Nick Clegg is, and 19% thought he was leader of the BNP.

I think there will always be some relatively well paid work in the city, but...
Be warned iii is crap compared to H-L. They never send you anything at all, not even once a year. In fact I am thinking about moving my ISAs from iii to H-L unless they get their act together soon.
I sometimes think H-L send you too much stuff in the post, but it's the opposite with iii.
The one thing I will be glad of, if I ever go back to being a permie, is being able to take 25-30 days holiday without feeling guilty that I'm losing money or pricing lost earnings into the holiday cost etc. There is also the "make hay while the sun shines" argument that also makes one reluctant...
I'm sure I saw him having a meal with someone who looked like a Car Supermarket salesman in a "Scottish Steakhouse" the other day.
He was wearing a panama hat and there was a Toyota Aygo or something like that parked nearby.
They need to expand the DLR and make the entire tube and train network have robot driverless trains.
This strike could be expensive for London contractors. If it goes ahead I think we should set up an agency to bring in Indian railworkers to replace the strikers. Payback time against the...
