IR35: Planning for April 2021 – should I stay or should I go?

Yep, something like this, plus I was thinking about the situation where one goes from outside to inside with the same client, then the HMRC investigate all your previous contracts, and over extrapolating... Of course the above doesn’t apply as I always have had my contracts checked by Qdos, so...

IR35: Planning for April 2021 – should I stay or should I go?

My last contract at a bank, outside and checked with Qdos finished in Jan, and I’m about to start at another bank, blanket PSC ban, so inside via a brolly, would this be a risk? It’s a similar role to my previous contract, but obviously I need to earn money, so this time round I was considering...

IR35: Planning for April 2021 – should I stay or should I go?

I’m contracting via my Ltd -> Agency -> Consultancy -> Client Yes, it’s a client that’s been mentioned as using this so they don’t do the IR35 determination. There’s quite a few contractors here via the Consultancy, some of whom I’ve spoken to, and they’re probably don’t know all about IR35...

    CV File Format

LibreOffice worked well for me, I just did 3 pdfs: one with full contact info, one with just email, and one with 'available on request'. Only one or two out of lots of agents asked for 'Word format' which is easy too as LibreOffice can make .doc and .docx files

Why we MUST ditch our lazy attitude to finding work through agents and agencies

I did go direct, got my first contract via an ex-colleague, but I'm still with an agent as the big corp handles all contractors through the agent. As has been said already, big corps use agents to handle this because it's easier, and I'd guess they'd have to have a lot of contractors all the...

    My First Contract

Forgot to mention IR35 above as in my mind it's 'part of the scenery' :tongue I've got IR35 insurance, and I'm getting the contract reviewed :grin My planning for the next six months (end of this contract) is to make sure I've got money left for taxes, plus plenty left over for the war chest...

    My First Contract

Well, I've always wanted to try contracting and a redundancy this year gave me the chance to start (I've still got a healthy war chest even though I've been off for 3 months) I don't really fit the standard career progression as I like the technical bits, and learning new stuff, and I'm not...

    My First Contract

Yes, it's with Qdos already for the free review I get with the insurance, is it worth upgrading to the full review? Thanks for the advice, and I read this which says that notice periods don't have to be balanced. I won't worry too much about this as I've got no intention of using it anyway, why...

    My First Contract

Hi all, I'm new here and new to contracting, so I've read lots of stuff, set up MyCo Ltd, got accountant, bank acct, registered with HMRC etc etc, and most importantly got myself a contract :happy I got this contract through an ex-colleague who got me an interview, and it's with a big corp, so...
