Mortgage rejection based on contract turned around?

Just got bad news that the underwriter for the mortgage I was looking at rejected my application because of some technicalities regarding my contract between inside and outside IR35, swithcing. The broker seems to think they are being harsh and that she can salvage it despite them refunding my...

    Orange Genie - Skimming allegations

I just got notice today from Orange Genie that my agency no longer want them on the approved list. Meaning I have to switch. This all makes sense now...

    Disaster First Contract

Permanent staff are beyond frustrated, to the point of storming out of meeting because they know a train crash is coming. I had a lightbulb moment yesterday and just decided to treat it as a job and not take it personally as long as I do my work I have been hired for and deliver ahead of time.

    Disaster First Contract

To be honest it is nearer £400p/d but maybe I didn't calculate it correctly. But speaking to accountant as advised by many it seems I would walk out with the same monthly salary with 2 and a half weeks of work. But then again I could be very wrong.

    Disaster First Contract

In short, I left my permanent job of around £60k fir a contract role of £350pd outside IR35. Everything seemed good and I had read through the job spec and it all matched with everything I had done throughout my career in a consultancy. Fast forward about 6 weeks later multiple issues: 1. the...

First time contractor - Decisions to make

Wouldn't this be the case at any point in time. I have been working in consultancy for 10 years and would have made the jump to contracting but was always afraid because of the reason you mentioned. But at some point didn't you just have to make the jump with the risk, I have seen people less...

First time contractor - Decisions to make

This seems to be the consensus, even though it is a SC cleared role that they say will run for multiple project, it is not worth the risk. Thanks for all the advice.

First time contractor - Decisions to make

Thanks for all the replies. If they come back and agree the contract is outside IR35 would it still be deemed a bad time to leave my perm role? I was thinking of asking about expenses, is this frowned on after the interview stage has been passed?

First time contractor - Decisions to make

Hi, I am new to this forum and contracting as I have never done it before. I have always been a permanent employee but always worked with Consultancies so I figured why not branch out. The perfect role popped up out of the blue and I went for the interview and have received an offer. I cannot...
