    Q from a newbie - Using contractors/freelancers - documentation required?

Noted - thank you very much, everyone has been really helpful and I am genuinely keen to make sure our actions don't put any of our contractors at risk of IR35 and/or EE status for them as much as us. I'll come back and update in case any lurkers are going through the same.

    Q from a newbie - Using contractors/freelancers - documentation required?

Ah sorry I keep crossing over with replies! Yes as I say I want to protect these guys as well as us. I have been surprised at some of the info I'm hearing about how the arrangements, sounds like some of them have been written on the back of a fag packet at times.

    Q from a newbie - Using contractors/freelancers - documentation required?

 I think so too. I have a info gathering meeting (why, when, how, where etc) with the head of that department, will bring it forwards!!!

    Q from a newbie - Using contractors/freelancers - documentation required?

I hear you, I wouldn't blame anyone for trying to claim worker/ee status to be honest, only looking out for themselves at the end of the day and no-one can argue with that! I just want to make sure they can't now I know a bit more about how our teams work with them. :D I don't know why I...

    Q from a newbie - Using contractors/freelancers - documentation required?

Thanks! That's what I've been saying, to treat them the same as we would a plumber coming to do a set job. I'm getting push back though as there are times when a certain work area needs additional general resource rather than a specific timed project. Sounds like I just need some help...

    Q from a newbie - Using contractors/freelancers - documentation required?

And thank you both - have just sent an initial "HELP ME" email to QDOS :) What sort of documents do you two get then from companies when working with them just out of interest? Do you always get a contract for services or are some a bit less....umm.... formal?

    Q from a newbie - Using contractors/freelancers - documentation required?

Hi, it was actually due to the off-payroll changes coming in to force that made me do a bit more digging about as to how we currently work with our contractors. We are exempt from the new rules but o reason why I can't take this opportunity to review things, besides it may not be long before we...

    Q from a newbie - Using contractors/freelancers - documentation required?

Thanks for the quick reply! Some via agencies and some directly. I am trying to educate people that its not necessarily the written its the actions that will ultimately matter. I feel a bit relieved to have it confirmed that it will require external support, I was wondering if it was...

    Q from a newbie - Using contractors/freelancers - documentation required?

Good afternoon all I work for a company that regularly engages self employed contractors/freelancers (mix of Ltd Co's and sole-traders) and am looking to tighten up our processes to protect the contractors as well as ourselves, as we have gone from the odd one or two to a fairly large number...
