I submitted an invoice to my current agency with number like 123456789. I pasted my company VAT number in the wrong field :emb
The only way to change an invoice, submitted with this agency, is to produce a credit note and a new invoice. Should I do that?
Is it a big no-no with HMRC to have an...
I'm single, so I can manage quite cheaply - e.g. rent a room for £500 per month in East London.
Plus at this point I don't really care that much about the money. I want to check what life in London is like, if I can survive the pressure, etc. If I like it I may move over.
I'm an .NET Web/Backend dev with ~10 years experience. I have some financial industry exposure (a contract with an insurance company, permanent role with a FinTech startup), but have mostly done media and public sector work. I'm in the North and it's very hard to get rate above 400 over here...
No cooling period for businesses I guess. I believe canceling within the first week means one doesn't have to pay for all the 12 months of the contract.
Anyway I ended paying £155 to BT for the lesson to never deal with them again...

On 8th all tethered data used is charged at 0.00, so I don't think tethering is to blame.
Didn't had a chance, their phone lines are only open on weekdays until 17:30.
Plus I expect they'll just say those rates are in the contract somewhere, so pay up stupid :emb
A month ago I decided to switch my LTD phone to BT's new 4G business plan ( BT Business Mobile - Sim Only ) . Got the cheapest option - 1GB of data with some calls and texts for ₤21 per month. Tried the SIM card for two days, but the coverage at my home was very bad, so I called BT and cancelled...
Two weeks ago I browsed the forums here and found that the only contractor friendly high street bank is Halifax. I used their online tool and got an agreement in principle for a mortgage with a 10% deposit. I then scheduled an appointment with a credit consultant in one of their branches. The...
I'm a .NET MVC developer and my 1st contract ends on March 31st. During the last year I was working all weekends, had no vacation and now I can use a two week holiday.
There are plenty of contracts advertised last few days, but I'm wondering if that would be the case after April 6th. It may be...
I have a business reserve account and a deferred Visa card. So far I'm aware of the following methods to withdraw money:
Use the Visa on ATMs - the daily limit for the card is 2000, but in my experience ATMs will only issue 600 in one transaction. Which means it takes time and it attracts...
