I think the whole point is to trick people into making voluntary payments - it’s give us money or x and y will occur.
But x (FCA agreeing the loans are valid - isn’t going to happen) and y ( a court agreeing is equally unlikely if given the actual details of the loans) so that letter is...
The two things I note are the tone of the notice and the speed at which it’s been published given when the letters arrived - to say the FCA has to be annoyed would be an understatement, nothing moves that fast without someone senior exerting pressure

so start digging up the paperwork paying particular attention to where the loans originated (Isle of Mann trusts) and the scale...
The last time a law firm asked me to log into a portal they put 2 sneaky questions which would have made me liable for a debt. As such my advice would be insist on them providing the documents on paper or at best via email
I went and did a quick search and this comes up from 2020 https://forums.contractoruk.com/hmrc-scheme-enquiries/136396-iq-consultants-felicitas-solutions-ecs-trustees-loan-repayment-demands-post2730639.html#post2730639
Oh dear (for them).
Are you suggesting that it may be worthwhile actually going to the portal as the meta data on the file is going to prove that the files have been tampered with / date from well after the day they should have been created?
