Good question - one that I've not yet worked out (I don't really trust the online calculators), but at my day rate it'll be a reasonable uptick for the revenue. That said, the money in my account will be mine, and not at (as much) risk of Hector helping himself whenever he wants.
I'm no newbie...
After all of the stress waiting to see what writing was on the wall from Mr Georgie, and the relief today on the fact that he didn't have it in for us this time, it suddenly dawned on me that I'm sick and tired of all of this tulip and feeling under attack every second day from HMRC and gov.uk...
Hi all
I have a chance at quoting for some work for software support (operational primarily).
Does anyone know of any 'standard' contracts for this sort of thing? I'm thinking of stuff like on-call support with a retainer basis.
I don't normally quote on this basis, so interested in anything...
Hi all,
Facts of my case are as follows:
For tax year ending April 2007:
Jul 2007 : SA Submitted & Received by HMRC
Jan 2009 : HMRC open aspect enquiry into 2006/7 tax year.
From what I read, they have missed the boat, as they must open an Aspect enquiry within 1 year of the date of receipt...
Bear in mind that the agent has a clear bias here, as you opting in has implications for their business and causes them effort.
Still can't see why they would say most opt out?
Thanks for the note.
I'm already in a contract, so they'll be hard pushed to change it now until it finishes.
As far as I can see it's all posturing and positioning, there's no real substance to the issue.
If it gets too much, I'll just sign out, and know that it doesn't mean a thing legally.
I was always minded to tell them to bog off anyway, just wanted to be more sure that there was nothing about contracts changing hands.
In a lot of ways this has no bearning on me anyway, as it's a downstream contract and thereforce largely irrelevant, as the terms and conditions of my contract...
Thanks for the responses.
I can't ignore it, as they are saying that I'm no longer allowed onsite from 6th September, unless I decide.
Not quite sure how they can do this, given the contract, but whatever.
So, there are no known provisions in the regs regarding the changing of EB during a...
Hi all,
I did search, and didn't find anything similar.
Essentially, the client is changing their Preferred agency and the new one are asking me to Opt-Out at this point.
I've been onsite for a few months already, so this was a bit of a surprise. (I opted in previously).
Just to complicate...
Hi all,
I'm just wondering if anyone knows how long the requirement to hold payslips is as an employer?
I.e. do I have to keep them for 7, 8, 11, 15 years, etc.
Cheers,
I for one will not be second-guessing what the 'intent' of the Revenue is, but the actual wording of what they ask.
If they don't ask what they actually mean, that's hardly my problem.
My understanding is that once you are 'introduced' to a client, you cannot from that point onwards opt-out.
So, if you have physically met the client, and then opted-out afterwards. Tough to them.
However, IANAL and IANAA, etc...
Actually, my contrat names the client specifically. Whilst the contract is between my company and the agency, the client is specifically named in the contract.
So on that basis, it should be left blank.
