Getting a job after about ten years off, remotely!

I used to work in banking, back office apps, .net windows forms, asp.net, sql. For about 10 years.

No, I clearly said I'm not expecting a well paid contract. I don't expect for them to 'pay for training for me'.

Getting a job after about ten years off, remotely!

I have a UK correspondence address and setup a UK limited company about a month ago. (Although I was not in the country at the time, it really makes little difference.) Indonesia recently passed a data protection law. I can speak and translate Indonesian, but I'm looking more to renew IT skills.

Getting a job after about ten years off, remotely!

Yes this is a point tbh. I am not sure about the interview process, how important it would be for me to be in country at the time. I have done some remote work in Indonesia, teaching English to Indonesian children, but it's poorly paid, only around £20/hour, so I don't honestly need too much...

Getting a job after about ten years off, remotely!

As I said this isn't really a problem; I have two main choices at the moment: either I leave next week as scheduled or I don't. If the next step is to spend the next several months doing personal projects and certifications in Indonesia then that's not really a problem, as long as its pursuant...

Getting a job after about ten years off, remotely!

I used to work in .NET C# with SQL Server. Haven't done anything more complicated than code the odd screen scraper or whatever for personal use for the last decade. Now it's January and basically I plan: 1. go to Indonesia (where I've been living, and not really doing anything) 2. come back to...

Yeah that's the one I want, they have EU spouses but they are foreign nationals.

    Anyone worked for the government?

Just working through the new online UK visa system (not for me, for some people I am inviting to visit for a 3-day party, I wanted to test it myself before I told them to apply, applying as family members of EU citizens) at https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk It's bloody shocking. Does HM Gov not...

    Business account?

I have just set up a small Ltd (not contracting), and I need a business account that won't start charging me. Always used to have Alliance & Leicester (Santander), but not sure now if that's the best option. Probably just have a couple of thousand in the account.

Six-year-old schoolboy suspended for having Mini Cheddars in his lunchbox

I wouldn't assume that. They excluded him for violating their healthy eating policy, but that wasn't his behaviour, it was his parents. And it went from suspension to expulsion in only a couple of days. If you look at exclusion of kids this age, they are violently attacking other kids and...

Six-year-old schoolboy suspended for having Mini Cheddars in his lunchbox

Doesn't sound like it. The school has and is required to publish its behaviour policy, which is here: http://www.colnbrookprimary.com/bp.pdf Nothing in the statement suggests he has breached it. Well that specifically excludes the actions of the parents, and again there doesn't appear to...

Six-year-old schoolboy suspended for having Mini Cheddars in his lunchbox

You obviously don't have the first clue about education. An academy is a state school. You are thinking of a 'maintained school', which this isn't, it is still however 100% a 'state' school'. Indeed.
