How do you know that? These money are gotten not from the Sales directly. I've got them due to a legal loophole. In the form it is said:

    CT600 FRS VAT Surplus

Hi guys I've got pretty much stupid question regarding where I should put FRS VAT Surplus. I think there are two options: 1. Add Surplus to Turnover and put whole figure into the field CP7 (Turnover/Sales) 2. Put the surplus into the field CP43 (Interested received) So the question is how you...

Keeping track of expenses. What do you use?

Hmm. Why do you need an additional tracker? I pay for everything by company debit card and just upload bank statments to FreeAgaent

UK born and bread, looking to move to Australia

457 is a very bad visa. You have no access to Medicare, you must pay for school for your children, you have no rights for unemployment and child benefits and there is no guarantee that you get PR after 3 years with 457 visa. I'm personally going to move to Australia. I got 176 visa. I do...

First batch of HMRC IR35 compliance letters out

Who knows. No one gave exact answer to this question in this forum. Are there any spies here? Looking at the documents company must submit, the only question related to filtering PSC from other companies is Question 6 in P35 form: Are you service company? I answered no. Let's see if I receive...

    Dividend Tax

Hi everybody. I have a question about Dividend tax and how it is applied. I'm thinking if I'm going back to Permie and close my company. If I pay myself 31800 dividends than I do not pay any extra tax since it is covered by Corporate Tax. Than I go permie and have a salary, let's take for...

How does IR35 really work for IT contractors in financial companies?

Yes they can, but looks like it is time and money consuming for them. I think their target is to fine you for the last contract after that you are scared and pay taxes like you are within IR35

How does IR35 really work for IT contractors in financial companies?

Yep. I agree. It sound rubbish, but I heard it from my colleague who was working with another contractor before and who was fined by HMRC. HMRC fined him for the sat contract only. Looks like they are lazy to investigate each contract. If you change you contract every 6 month it is very painful...

    Question about IR35

I agree, until you can say to your client that "today I'm busy and I'll send my developer to you instead of myself", you are inside IR35

How does IR35 really work for IT contractors in financial companies?

Basically, there is no difference in working conditions between permies and contractors in invesment banks. It's all about luck. All of them are hidden employees. All the contracts are IR35 complaint but this peice of paper is a total scam. No one will allow you to substitute yourself.

How does IR35 really work for IT contractors in financial companies?

I'm a contractor at the investment bank. It's all about luck. I heard some people were caught and now pay much more taxes than they used to. Some people were contracting for 10 years and tax man never checked their company. From what I heard HMRC fines for the last contract only. So it makes...

VAT Return. Am I in trouble?

My accountant submitted VAT return and looks like figures are wrong Box 6 says: your total sales excluding VAT. They submitted 25200 which 21000 + 4200 VAT Boxes 3 and 5: VAT 3402 which is 13.5% and fine Will I be fined? What should I do? Call to HMRC immediately? Change an accountant?

    Tax evasion/avoidance

Sorry if I was understood this way but I wanted to say is that we all might think that we are doing contracting legally and we control everything until judge said that you are personally bloody hidden employee. Let's face it. We are all hidden employees and everything we are discussing here is...
