The threshold for passing a decision is > 75% so in this instance there isn't cause for concern.
In any case, I've followed up with my accountant over a lengthy call and we did the sums on a divi Vs bonus - the sums work out almost identical at the higher & additional taxpayer rate thresholds...
Thanks Lance - the majority shareholder has been advised (by their accountants) against Alphabet shares that HMRC don't look favourably on this type of setup, but the only scenario I can find where there has been case law which HMRC has won is against PA Holdings, who setup a contrived scheme to...
I'm doing the Wise setup at the moment - aside from the lack of FSCS protection, I've accrued a decent amount of interest over the past 4 months so I'll continue to run with it. At the moment I'm earning 4.82% which is very decent.
Folks,
I've just fired off the same question to my accountant, would be curious if anyone else has experience with this...
I'm in talks with a small company about joining as a director + minority equity holding. There would be 3 directors in total with a 55:25:20 split and I will be buying in...
This is me - we were planning to move for September but have pushed back by a year because of the challenge in finding an international school that we liked and are also not considering another region entirely. Happy to chat about my experiences so far
A friend of mine has billed £1700/day a while ago. I've hit £1200 and am not a million miles off that at the moment, but the market has been incredibly variable over the past few years and these are the types of gig that are a direct sell into the client and more consulting-type in nature (I'm...

This thread seems to have gone wildly off topic...
Are you able to share the source of the details? I'm less bothered about the tax regime, more the practical details of who you can work for e.g. a startup of < 5 years

It might also be how I'm reading the statement around the 183 day rule which is an misinterpretation. Happy to be corrected on this...
My only slight concern (I've been tracking this for over a year as we're planning to relocate) is the 15% only kicks in if you spend less than 183 days a year there. That strikes me as somewhat odd, but I've seen that on a few articles now
Not sure if it’s worth adding - the consultancy would fall under the small company exemption and my contract would be between my Ltd and the consultancy, not the end client
I’ve been offered an outside IR35 contract via a consultancy, but without a written SDS being provided. The work will be encapsulated by a SoW with clear deliverables and working practices will be consistent with an outside determination (I’ve done work with this consultancy before and there’s...
I don't know. Furthermore, the client is a relatively small firm (not small enough to qualify for the small business exemption) and there could be an extended relationship over time with them. They've gone against the grain for me (which I greatly appreciate, as they were advised not to engage...
