Yes I did a contract through them. They paid on time.
My only complaint is that they insisted on taking references after I'd already started the contract, saying that the client expected them to. I relented after the 5th request and they then used my references as sales leads despite my...
This is what I'm seeing here. Also if you do manage to get over here and sort visas etc. expect gruelling day-long interviews for perm roles at any of the decent companies and if you're a developer expect to be able to write a recursion or linked list examples on a white board!
I have relocated to the USA. Contracting isn't worth it, you can get the same as permie except you also get benefits such as health insurance that are vital here.
Oh yeah, it ain't called Permanent here either - it's "Full-time"
I have 25 days leave but which also includes sick leave.

5 - Housing prices are now...
Agreed, however I think the cost of essentials - especially food has gone up massively in about the last 3-4 years. Also eating out used to be dirt cheap, but when I was back in Melbourne just over a year ago I can honestly say that decent restaurants were not much cheaper than in London!
I...
It most definitely is not any more. Exchange rate is only about AUD $2.16 to the GBP now and a standard loaf of bread is almost AUD $5! I paid almost $9 for a pint in Melbourne ffs!
Are you planning to move out there for good? If you are going to need anything but a small mortgage I would say...
My wife and I are planning to move there, probably won't worry about finding work until we're there though. Like you we are Aussies but there doesn't seem all that much to go back to in terms of IT jobs and the cost of living seems to have sky-rocketed!
