    Investing Ltd Co funds

Thanks - what brokerages are you using? I’m going to hold off until hearing back from the accountant first, assumed others here would have done similar and could share their experience

    Investing Ltd Co funds

Thanks, I’m planning on averaging in each month - so if/when the market sentiment changes in the future, my average cost shouldn’t be previous ATH’s.. who knows though, clearly the risk to either gain or loss. Thanks for the suggestion re American stocks, I’ll likely keep it simple to UK

    Investing Ltd Co funds

Thanks - I read similar online, my companies profit would still derive from my IT contracts, just the funds aren’t required and investing seems more sensible than keeping the cash in low interest rate account. Do you know what the distinction would be and when the SIC code would need to...

    Investing Ltd Co funds

Hi CUK, I intend to ask my accountant next week - but I’d appreciate hearing from others that have invested from their Ltd before. Is it as easy as signing up to a S&S brokerage in my companies name and depositing / investing into indexes/shares as I please? I’m going to stop withdrawing...

Your experience with Umbrella.co.uk (insider IR35 contract)

They're quite a large Agency, I'd assume they stick to their "pre-approved" list. The others were, Parasol, JSA, Payme, Paystream. As I say, I'm not against paying an extra £20/month for the ease (if it is infact a good reputable Umbrella)

Your experience with Umbrella.co.uk (insider IR35 contract)

I’d assume they’re the ones offering the agency the largest incentive/referral fee. They also referred them to me for accountant services, but I went with a local contractor accountant for almost half the price instead. They’re selling Umbrella as the one they have the best relationship with...

Your experience with Umbrella.co.uk (insider IR35 contract)

Thanks, yes I want to salary sacrifice, apologies, I should've the words rather than just "SS" in my post. Could you go into a little detail as to whether you would use it or not? That's what I'm interested in! I'd assume you've had a negative experience / know others who have? I do have ~4 I...

Your experience with Umbrella.co.uk (insider IR35 contract)

Hi CUK! I've trawled through the forums to see specific feedback on Umbrella.co.uk and can't find any. I can see them mentioned in lists on posts with other firms, but no direct feedback/experience from people that have used them. I've spoken to them and got the figures across, which is inline...

Contractor mortgages - mix of inside and outside contracts

Thanks, I did read around before considering it and saw a lot of advice similar to yours here. I believe this should be fine, my first few months have been genuinely outside/project based. The client didn’t have anyone with the internal skills capable of doing the project spec. They’ve been...

Contractor mortgages - mix of inside and outside contracts

Thanks all, I spoke to Freelancer Financials - really knowledgable. Turns out getting a mortgage whilst contracting is relatively easy compared to the advice I was hearing from my parents before making the move! I’ll definitely be using their services when ready - the £599 fee seems reasonable...

Contractor mortgages - mix of inside and outside contracts

Thanks, I’ll reach out to Freelancer Financials. Interesting - that article you linked related it to gross PAYEE, which would obviously be far higher inside than outside? With that logic, your lending power multiple would be higher with inside vs outside as they take gross pay/salary into...

Contractor mortgages - mix of inside and outside contracts

Hi All, I’m relatively new to contracting, 2-3 months in. I took an outside role with a set project spec, which is coming to an end shortly. The department my project was with has recently had some leavers and after I deliver this project, they’ve asked if I’d be willing to extend and help them...

Best way to pay off student loans?

Yeah the interest rate is ridiculous, especially to be charging people who want to get an education. Im new to contracting, is that generally the rule? 2x your perm salary to go contracting? I’m not sure if it’s kosher to talk about money on this forum, but I turned down a perm role offer of...

Best way to pay off student loans?

Yeah, £50k is a lot, especially with it going up higher than I was repaying! I don’t mind the system, higher earners pay it back, lower earners never have to. I do think the universities should be doing a better job though, for example, should we be letting 100,000 students take a sports...

Best way to pay off student loans?

Apologies, via my own LtdCo, still new to the industry, assumed as I said outside IR35 it would mean via Ltd. That’s a shame there isn’t a better way to do so, thought it was worth checking. Looking back over the last few years, my interest has averaged 5.5%! thanks for the advice, I...
