I've been with inniAccounts for a while now and they seem to be somewhere inbetween. Speaclity contract accountants but not too big to care. Their online software is a real pleasur to use but it is despoke to them. It does, however, make the management and day-to-day activities of running a ltd...
My Nest thermostat is being installed tomorrow. Looked at the competition but really none compared to the Nest so went with that, albeit its a bit more expensive than the others.
I have two Amazon Echos and a range of sensors around the house including motion sensors, window/door sensors and...
I recently left a contract after, shall we say, a "falling out" between myself and a line manager at Client Co. I informed the ClientCo and agency immediately of my intention to leave in two weeks as I found another (and better gig) and even worked a couple of weeks notice. I was paid up for the...
Having recently gone through both DS and then SC Clearance, it took nothing like the length of time you state. In my case it was 1-week and 3-weeks respectively
What is your official notice period at the perm job? If its 1month+ then the agent probably isn't going to rush to get the paperwork done given they have a fair length of time

Wow. Why are people on here so sanctimonious and condescending to new posters asking for genuine advice like the OP? Sure he may not know everything about contracting right now but what has this got to do with the help he was after?
I’d go seek the advice of an employment solicitor. AFAIK...
I’m just about to start out in the wonderful world of IT contracting (great timing given the recent budget I know, but I’m not letting that put me off). I’ve done lots of reading and soaking up this site for a few weeks but wondered if anyone could contribute their best websites, mobile apps and...
As someone whos "reading up" on it all and hasn't yet appointed an accountant or set up a Ltd company (all in due course), can you elaborate on this employment allowance, what it is and where I can read more about it.
Thanks
I’m currently in talks with a company about joining as a contractor. This would be my first IT contract which I’m excited about but not sure what the norm is regarding working hours as a contractor. As a long time permie I’m used to getting my basic wage and anything in addition is (right or...
While it wont have 16Gb Ram, the Surface Pro 3 (plus dock) is an amazing device. The i7 is super fast and it'll handle pretty much anything you can throw at it. You could even squeeze in a 4k monitor within your budget and have a lovely set up (as do I now).
