If you could contract in any country, which would you choose?
As an American, living my first 30 years there, and the past 20 years here, it is my well informed opinion that you have that completely backwards. Wages are higher there, everything else is worse.- cloudninja

Thanks for the responses....yeah that's what I thought too. Its Gorilla Accounting to name and shame...and to be fair, they are excellent in everything else so I am surprised and bit dumbfounded. And I DO need the accounts for a mortgage/finance application!- cloudninja

How long to prepare annual accounts?
Happy with my accountant, its one of the highly recommended ones on this forum. However, its been 5 months since my company year end and they have still not prepared or issued the draft annual accounts. Is this normal? I would have expected them in a month or so....- cloudninja

Leaving SJD Accountants
I left SJD a few months ago, but it coincided with my year end, so the new account didn't want the data anyway. But what you can do is export everything as PDFs - its not ideal, but at least you will have all the data.- cloudninja

How does freelance software development contracting in US differ from that in the UK
I'd somewhat agree with earlier comments, but also you will find contracts and contractors similar to here, especially in the prime markets of San Francisco, New York, Chicago. Rates can vary widely, from what you might find here a standard 500 a day to 5 times that in cases. Note - group...- cloudninja

SJD cockups
I left SJD on Friday for another accountancy. I can't imagine they are growing at all, particularly with the aggressive manner in which they tried to get me to stay. Too many mistakes, some of them potentially quite costly drove me away, even though its a major hassle and will cost me money to...- cloudninja
