hi all,
i have been working for almost 3 months on a direct programming contract but i am not set up as a limited company. i recently moved back to the uk from abroad and didn't set one up as i was so busy. the money has been going straight into my personal bank account and i'm now thinking i...
so i spoke to the accountant who said he uses a 3rd party to do things like name changes who charge him 45 quid a time... not sure i believe it though. anyhow he's writing the cost of the whole thing off and i'm going to continue to use him for the moment. i will have to keep an eye on him...
thanks guys, that's exactly what i thought, nice to have the confirmation though.
he'll be getting a fairy stern email tonight outlining the fact that i will pay him some (half?) of this invoice and in future everything is to be negotiated beforehand. if he's not happy then bye-bye...
hi all,
i recently went to change my company name and my accountant said he'd do it. the way he said it made it sound like it was going to be included in the fee i pay him per month. he has just billed me for £105 +Vat so wants £126.
we didn't agree a price for this and i don't really feel...
i always ignore agents when the request to add me on linked in. i feel adding them kind of defeats the purpose of linkedin, part of which is to remove the middlemen.
i was pretty stoked... i mean i'm no pushover with rates etc. hence the fact i asked the markup, and then said i'd like more.
i guessed it was a healthy markup for them... fact is though it is a decent contract, decent hours, remote working 3 days a week and the rate is pretty good to be honest...
so i just got an offer after interview, rate agreed beforehand. post interview i asked the agent what % they were on and they didn't really tell me but said it was a fixed markup pre-agreed or something. anyhow i asked could they get me more and they said 'i'll go away and see what i can do...
twitter seems to have leaped in popularity to actually become a fairly useful tool for people/companies etc. in some ways.
i was wondering if any here used it for self-promotion, getting jobs etc? and if so how?
hello,
i still really want to start a ltd company... i found these, anyone know anything about them (i'd probably go for number 2), are they dodgy?

haha, yeah a lot of them are full of schmoozy 'matey' chat the whole time.
when refusing to budge on my absolute minimum today the guy KEPT going 'well what about if they turned round and offered x pounds a day...', to which i was like 'no really, that is my absolute minimum'... then twice more...
haha... i've had this a few times:
'have you got anything else going on at the moment that i should know about'.
it's like, errr, well that depends on who's side you look at the 'should' from... :laugh
