European client with contract in sterling rather than euros?

I've come across this lending requirement before, it does narrow down your choice of lenders. Now I'm not suggesting you could lie to a lender, or that you should...but it is possible to take your copy of the contract and amend the figure to be sterling. Your accounts will back up the amount...

Mortgage issues with contract paid in Euros - anyone else?

Yes, unfortunately it does whittle down the lenders a bit. It makes it even more problematic when their are ther factors in play - unusual property, commercial applications, buy to let, ltd company purchase. We've found it almost impossible to get a lender for for a holiday let purchase...

    Buying properties with LTD

This doesn't asnwer any of your questions, but I'll add a snag to your list if your planning on leveraging with mortgages: Most lenders will require that deposit funds come from the director / shareholder of the SPV, not from another Ltd company. They also won't allow layering (holding company...

Agent Double Checking if I am the "Sole Fee Earner"

This was what threw me. I get asking about significant control (which obviously I've done with them previously when the contract was started), but why this would matter for IR35 was getting me suspicious.

Agent Double Checking if I am the "Sole Fee Earner"

Hi All, Contract is being extended, and I just had the following email through from the agency. For reference, original engagement was assessed as outside IR35 by the client - using the Kingbridge Assessment Tool. LtdCo is owned 50/50 by myself and my wife. "I am putting through the extension...

    CEST Outcome Sufficient as SDS?

To give you an example, the statement I received is almost a copy paste from the CEST, with a statement, reasons listed in CEST and acknowledgement from client and contractor. All bundled up in nice headed paper. Looks something like this: We believe this engagement falls Outside IR35 and the...

    Holding company for multiple businesses

I was doing some reading earlier in the year on structuring of BTL properties and Holiday lets in LTD, and I seem to recall that a lot of holiday let / BTL lenders specify that layering of companies is not allowed for their mortgages. It must be wholly owned by the directors, not by another...

    Liz Truss &IR35

I'd argue that if you have a N Korean passport, there are probably a few countries that would like to invite you over to give you asylum and have a nice long chat.

    Anyone here use Xero?

As a side note, I just had a nosy around their website. Fees seem a little high to me! Multiple Currenciews not supported unless you use the premium version at £33 per month, + another £5 for payroll +£2.50 for expenses + £5 to track projects? They like an add on sale don't they!

Churchill Knight & Boox clients being investigated as Managed Service Companies

I'm a little late to the party here, and despite reading the many pages on this thread, I'm still lost as to what the issue is paying an accountant monthly. Why does it matter to HMRC how I pay my accountant? I pay them monthly so they are there for me to ask professional advice when needed...

    Accounting Recommendations

To be fair, that sticky is 65 pages long. Here's the summary from the first post: "The general consensus of the threads I have read below are to go with the contractor specialist ones rather than a local bod. Knowing our business is better than face to face it seems. Some people are...

    Salary 22/23

I thought with a single director / employee, the ideal would be £11,908. If you have 2 directors / employees, this then increases to £12,570 as the Employers relief offsets the additional NI.

Freelance contract - German agency - Advice needed

The negative interest rate is because they hold your money in Euro accounts for that currency, and the ECB currently has negative rates on high balances. Another thing to noteis that they are about to increase their fees to transfer from Eur to GBP. It may still be the most competative option...

Survey... in, out, shake it all about?

Really? I work in a related area and I'm constantly bombarded with agents looking for Workday consultants and PM's. Although given that nothing in my experience says I know jack about Workday may give some indication as to the quality of those agents....

IT Infrastructure and Support for Small Consultancy Business

northernlanduk - Reading what you've put, I think you've misunderstood what I'm asking. This isn't about what I'm supporting or delivering for the client. This is for my business and my potential five employees. I want to provide them with laptops and be able to manage what we have installed...
