I received comms from hiring manager at client co that they had asked the agency for a reduction in rate, and as such we should expect to hear from them today.
The agency tried to get in touch this morning but I was busy doing work for the client.
I believe the agent will ask me to choose a...
I spoke to someone on site who had a similar opportunity some months ago.
They said they pushed for an increase and only got around 5% more.
I think I am going to bide my time until contract expiry and then ask for an increase with the aim to get 15% more.
Next renewal is end of my 24 months...
I am contracted to work for a consultancy and am placed on one of their client sites.
The end-client has recently had a big culling of contractors. One of people they have asked to leave is doing a department level lead role. The end-client has informed the consultancy I work for they would...
I am, as a business, entitled to raise my prices to reflect the increasing workload, difficulty and responsibility.
If they want to buy goods from a different shop because they don't like the price, they are entitled to do that.
The bit that makes it contentious is that they are a captive...
Hello,
I am less than a week from the end of a 6 month contract, the second with current client (1 year)
I have been advised from agent & client that renewal is a definite. This would make sense as I am central to an important piece of work.
I would like a raise, despite getting one last time...
I would not recommend crunch.
Their level of service is appalling. If you are happy to deal with late returns and all the headaches that brings, then sure.
I would suggest, as others here, an accountant that uses the freeagent portal. (Like Darren @ Dynamo )
Bit more expensive than crunch but...
Thanks that's exactly the answer I was looking for.
From what I can tell ii is the cheapest and has the integrated view of all 3 accounts.
I will open an account on their platform.
Cheers.
Hi,
I am hoping to open not one but three stocks and shares investments: a stocks and shares ISA, a normal investment account and a SIPP with the aim that all my dividends drawn up to higher tax rate go into the ISA up to it's limit, with the rest going into the regular trading account. Profits...
I use a popular online accountant for contractors.
However, they filed my VAT return 6 weeks late, even after I chased them about it the week before it was due.
When I asked why they were more or less indifferent.
I am going to move to a new accountant (am thinking FreeAgent based this time...
That has been offered without me asking for it, just rejecting the proposed straight up renewal due to "markets having moved" etc.
It's the first offer and I suspect there is another 25 hiding under the table - I know that I am held in high regards and seen a potential key man, not only to...
The rate my Ltd Co charges clients is higher for roles requiring leadership. I still get paid the same.
Now that's out the way back to my question.
What's the best (correct) way to communicate this to the client? via agent or directly?
Yay time for the age old question! Edit - apologies, seems to have turned into a wall of text.
Let me set the scene a little first;
It's my first gig, I joined an already-missed-it's-deadline-thrice project. The team manned by consultants, one as an interim lead.
ClientCo gave a deadline that...
So it seems that it's fine and I can claim £5 a night incidentals too.
And this wont impact my ability to expense £4 a week using my permanent home as an office?
I already lost a lot of confidence in the accountancy service I use and will be changing once I have decided on a new one -...
Hi,
After a bit of research I determined that it would be reasonable to rent a place nearer to work through the LTD.
My research suggests that as it's cheaper than commuting >300 miles/day or staying in a hotel for 5 nights a week then HMRC will be OK with it as a valid business expense.
The...
