Is default more likely than the eurozone printing tulip loads more euros to bail them out?

Seems a gamble to do anything as things could go in such extremely different ways depending what the cretins in charge decide to do for their greater good.

Gold is easy to buy and easy to sell.

How do you open a Swedish Kroner or Australian bank account without being a Swede or Australian and not being in either country?

Alternatively don't hold any cash at all and buy a place in Wandsworth. Boomed!

Other than for financial speculation what other use does gold have for the ordinary citizen?

A tin of baked beans could become more valuable than a bar of gold if it went proper mad max.

I think I read that tinned food lasts as good as indefinately too, regardless of what the law says must be stamped on the tin. Based on discoveries of tins hundreds of years old whose contents were still edible, if not exactly palatable, providing the tin remained sealed and not corroded through.

Get your cupboards stocked up while food is still cheap! Worth its weight in gold if there's a run on the supermarkets after the run on the banks.
