Will update with pics later but it's safe to say it was fairly soaked. It would be a miracle if there was anything in there that didn't get wet

          1. Remove hard drive(s)
          2. Do not put them anywhere hot
          3. If you're going to use silica gel, make sure it is dry, otherwise it will do nothing
          4. Leave the drive(s) somewhere dry with good airflow.
          5. Place the DRY silica gel bags in a plastic bag with the hard drives, then seal the bag with as little air in it as possible.
          6. If you believe in any superior being, make the necessary communications with them.
          7. Get some hard drive recovery software (I'm partial to RescuePRO by Sandisk)

          Good luck
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

I'm assuming if there is no damage or loss this isn't required? What about files that are under windows users are they still accessible?

Don't worry, you're not the first to try water cooling your PC.

Classic thread from elsewhere on how to do it properly, or not.

On a more helpful note, there may have some tips on how to salvage it amongst the 14 pages.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.

Got home from hols a few months and turned on PC, powered up briefly and then went off.

Closer look I'd left the side off and powered it off. Tell tale signs of cat slash inside case - pretty sure it shorted out my motherboard. New mobo needed anyway.

My cats have got a habit of doing this sort of slash protest at the best of times. Pee wars is the name of the game with them - looks like they didnt like the idea of us being away and found a nice slash space.

It's OK. I asked my Asian family members and they said it was stereotyping, but not racist. And they found it funny.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!
