I thought 2k was the magic number for Amortisation on the company accounts?

If you wanted to save some money you could get an older graphics card, previous generation.

If you are not a gamer then your graphics card looks a bit over the top. Then again what little I know is a year out of date.

Some recent comments on amazon are pretty scathing about the performance of the SSD.

        I think I paid around 2.6k (can't remember) for a decent machine.

I went for 32Gb ram because i often have several instances of VS/SSMS etc open. Along with a couple of VMs. If you don't need the extra RAM perhaps reducing to 16Gb.

Regarding the case/power supply will leave that up to someone more knowledgeable than me.

Not flat rated, my mistake in the original post.

Still, looks like in total I'll be spending too much, probably around £2,500 in total with all bits and pieced included

I would say 32Gb is absolute min for the type of development I do, but I work in the big data/machine learning/data analysis arena where 6TB of RAM is not uncommon on a server/workstation.

I think leave the ram at 32Gb for future proofing sake.

Rest of spec looks okay. I like my data on SSD for fast access so would probably have lots of these Crucial CT1000BX100SSD1 BX100 1TB SATAIII 2.5inch SSD installed.

If 6TB, of RAM, on a workstation is not uncommon, why are you slumming it with a paltry 32 GB?

6TB computers cost a few quid...like Bugatti Veyron money. Cheap for an hedge fund, they spend more than that on a few bonuses each year.

I thought that sort of sum would be nothing to DP Enterprises LTD.

He can always add more in the future, when he needs it and it might even be cheaper.

CyberPowerPC configuration, cost £1860. On this one I have 2 x 500Gb SSD and 2 x 1TB drives, possibly in a RAID setup.

I like this but that's a lot of money!
