What else should I be doing considering my passport is probably available for free on the Dark Web? Does CIFAS make day-to-day life a huge pain?

The last few people I told about CIFAS and did it, didn't complain it was difficult.

Today I rang the Experian "dedicated helpline". The bloke knew less about what was going on than my cat.

and then it’s easier just to keep it as electronically it doesn’t take up the physical space paper.
now in retrospect that was a bad idea but there are a lot of steps in that bad idea and there was an awful lot of work needed to fix it
Brookson’s had gone a long way further in fixing those issues (I know they were an MS house so files were on sharepoint) but even that doesn't seem to have helped them much.

E-mailing payslips wasn't working for me when the portal originally came back online but on Friday I was able to send myself all the payslips I was missing except for the 1st week of January (week 41) which isn't available on the portal.
They have changed the system to send a password protected .ZIP file instead of just sending you a .PDF copy. It's not unheard of for encrypted .ZIP files to blocked or quarantined depending on who's hosting your e-mail.
I can't comment on the margin refund as I'm "margin free" (I pay NW extra so I can switch between Ltd. and Umbrella depending on contract status).

It is a disgrace tbh as it was a regular occurrence that payslips would not be emailed despite them saying it only takes 10-15 minutes..
"A copy of your payslip will be e-mailed to you within the next 10 – 15 minutes."
Nope!! stick your finger in the air, you might get it one day !!!!!Last edited by 1ne0fFU; 15 February 2022, 22:20.

I posted this in the other Nixon Williams thread, but thought the FreeaAgent advice would be helpful to some readers in this forum too. Mods-is it worth having one main amalgamated thread for all Optionis issues collated together?
As if it needed repeated, but
If you are with Parasol Group, Clearsky, Nixon Williams, FirstFreelance, SJD: GET OUT!
How do you get out? If you are using FreeAgent with them, log on to FreeAgent, message FreeAgent live support. The account belongs to you, so have the accounting access removed. Instruct them to do this, don't ask and go back and forwards. FreeAgent will oblige.
Pay for FreeAgent yourself or get one of the free packages, for example by having a Mettle business account. Link this to FreeAgent. Free FreeAgent while you find another accountant. Close the account by email to the accounting business and if you have already terminated service for poor service, in December last year or before, then remind them of this. Also ask to perform an erasure request to the extent that GDPR egulations allow. They have to keep some data for auditing.Last edited by agentzero; 11 February 2022, 17:01.
