    Good. Have they accepted this?

They have enough details to send you a letter - that is all you need to send back to them

These people have been caught previously falsifying documents. I wouldn't give them the ammunition they need to try and pull these stunts again.

I believe it is a mistake as these people have very little information on anybody. You should be asking what information specifically they require to validate your identity and then you need to question whether you ever provided that information when you onboarded onto these scam umbrella schemes. You could even seek the ICO for guidance here too. To comply with their request for ID, redact all information they don't have on you like your driving license number, photo and date of birth. You are well within your right to do this. I think you should also even apply some "watermark" to whatever you send.

    Just saying…
This misses my point. They need to check what they have on you against whatever proof you give them. If you give them proof. Why send them ID with your DOB if they don't have it on file? This is taken directly from the ICO website:

Step two: Know who you’re dealing with If you’re not sure the requester is who they say they are, you must check this quickly. You shouldn’t ask for formal ID unless it’s necessary and proportionate. Instead, you could ask questions that only they would know, about reference numbers or appointment details for example. Or you can ask for ID that you can actually verify. There’s little point insisting on photo ID if you don’t know what the requester looks like – it should be proportionate

Point here is: don't just give up your ID. Ask them what information they have on you to which you can then provide the proportionate response to prove it is you. You don't have to provide ID - they can ask you questions. You get this all the time when you ring a call centre for a service you are subscribe to - they don't ask for ID do they? They ask you questions like your address, customer number etc. in this case - they could ask you for a reference from the letters they send you along with your name and address.

One of the legal firms working on this said we needed to disclose all the information, paperwork etc we had to them so they could send it on to Trethowans. I wasn't comfortable this. Why would they need paper they "should" already have? The answer ... They dont't have it. And they got caught fabricating paperwork as I mentioned above
    Its a snakedown
