Was anyone else listening to Radio 5 during the Songa/ Fed match?

Fantastic. The DJ's had notice rather than fixing the economy George and Merv were instead watching the tennis from the Royal box.

The best came though when the DJ broke the tennis commentary to announce the Greek parliament voted in favour of austerity measures. The DJ' "wonder if the chancellor knows" at which point the TV camera panned over to them and it went a bit like this.

"Looks like the chancellor is reading a message on his phone"

"Must be important Merv is shown the message"

    "Now there both look annoyed"

    Classic.

    It's almost embarrassing.

Sir Lord Fckwit of the BoE has let the cat out of the bag with hints of more money printing and no rate rises until GB has full employment (), so never basically.

Time to get the biggest mortgage in Sterling you can afford and buy that house!

The noisiest dishwasher I had was Brazilian.

It started at 6 am too.

    Terrible racket.

But then she'd come back to bed for some hanky panky.

It was difficult to stay grumpy.

Yep. I made the mistake of going for a bargain when I was in the middle of buying a whole houseful of kit.

That's the one, except mine had a key as well. As I recall it wasn't too hot on grip for screwdriver work either. I ended up recycling it when the battery wouldn't hold its charge.

A few years later setting up a new home in Europe I went for another steam iron. 10 times better than the top of the range jobby I'd bought in the UK, and it really could iron curtains while they were hanging up. This one wasn't even top of the range, I could have spent lots more if I'd been inclined to.
Talking of irons where's Churchill this week?
