You know there's the home 'makeover' TV programmes? The ones where Thingy Llewelyn Whatever Bowen Whatsit with the flashy sleeves does a makeover on peoples' properties?

I feel there may well be a market in doing 'makedowns' on peoples' properties.

A company that specialises in dumping rubbish (old refrigerators etc.) in peoples' gardens and trashing the turf. A company that has the technology to artificially create mouldy patches in kitchens and bathrooms. And transform a third bedroom into a flea pit of storage space.

A company that provides a household with a month's worth of washing up and dust and dirt and is expert at creating that 'slowly peeling off' wallpaper look.

A company that can disguise a spectacular view from a rear window with one that is appalling.....

.....Just in time for when the Revaluation Inspector calls...

Any venture capitalists out there willing to invest?

I also can't help wondering how many people have actually complained about the banding and how much will be added on to said peoples' council tax to pay for the taking a publishing of photo's. Another stupid idea from the people who brought you Tony Blair

    That Bypass?

Hmmm. Yes seems to be a nominal valuation. If they re-valued everyone's property, some people's council tax would double! And I doubt that politicians of any hue would allow that - they're all too mindful of what happened to Thatcher after the poll tax. The art of taxation is to squeeze till the pips squeak, but not to crush the lemon completely (to coin a phrase).

Doesnt realy matter what its true worth is though does it, as long as all similarly priced property ends up in the same bracket. They could say they are worth ten bob or 5 camels(in bradford ooooh racism) but would still collect the same council tax.
I dont suppose you will be informing them of their mistake like you would have had it been in their favour?

Sorry to piss on your bonfire, that valuation is from 1904 or something equally daft. They're claiming to revalue all the property bandings soon, up to a more up to date figure like from around 2000, and then everyone will go up at least one band and there will be prisons overloading from all the pensioners that refuse to pay.

On the plus side, if they put live cameras in everybody's bedrooms it might help negate the ridiculous sexual consent laws they're talking about today.
