Oh yes - and giving the troops something to do, so they don't get bored and take over. Also good for rallying the populace so that they don't get bored and revolting as well.

For some good that Blair managed to do, have a look at the recent history of Sierra Leone.

There was no strategic or commercial interest in the adventure, and none among the British public; this was the Blair/Cook "foreign policy with an ethical dimension" in its purest, most altruistic form. But the Sierra Leone intervention worked...

And that's from the Guardian. The notorious Blairite organ.

Bliar is raking it in, tax-avoided, by being a peace envoy and consultant.

    Bliar, the c**t, clearly won.

It was good for Thatcher, probably. Not so good for Tony Blair, who when you think about it, started twice as many wars as Hitler.

Seriously, if the balloon went up and you had to stay in a shelter for two or three weeks, the most important thing is water, several times what you think you'd need. Most people underestimate how hot and stuffy it would get from just from your own body heat, let alone possible fires outside.

It was 53 years ago today that a nuclear bomb was lost. Not that that will be the reason.

Now, is it me, or has this bomb been made to look like a cartoon willy?
