Evidently the Torygraph web site has trouble with UTF-8

(although oddly the page's Content-Type is UTF-8 but the Firefox character encoding shown by "View / Character Encoding" is Latin 1 )

and I've definitely established that their site is the one messing with my Firefox, putting it into a bizarre mouse-driven event mode in which page loading hangs unless the mouse is moving. I only access it from clientco now.
