The true "wealth" of England is to be found in its population. Out of all the home nations, it is quite probably the one that has seen most integration with external groups. Large numbers of Romans, Angles, Normans, Vikings, as well as Picts and Celts have all been drawn into the mix. Latterly, many have arrived from all parts of Europe as well as the wider Commonwealth too. The net result has been a diverse yet largely tolerant population that has a value greater than the sum of the parts. Therein lies its real strength.
