I came across a contractor in the 90s who had a 3 week contract extended to 3 years, at his original daily rate. He did rather well out of it.

Well done cojak. Personally I liked the short contracts, except it was a pain having to keep finding new ones.

At the very least it's a good rate, interesting work and gets me out of the house, meeting new people.
Boom!

Some years back I had a 2 week Netware support contract that I ended up leaving after 3 years, numerous renewals and role changes

Another fact to consider is that new Financial years are about to start.
It might just be that they are using up the last of this year's budget on a short trial period before splashing out on a longer Gig out of next year's dosh.
If so.......Happy Days!
Good luck anyway!

Ones lasting a few days have such a more attractive rate too! Also, in my experience you don't have to know a darn thing about the job! All that matters is that the company paying you has persuaded some idiot that you can.

Good for you. And you can change your CV to say:
Clientco: Mar 2010 - date
for the next few weeks and then:
Clientco: Mar 2010 - April 2010.
Much better than a 2 month gap and more or less true!

Congrats and all that but when the Mod's away......................
My current gig started off as 10 days - now up to 8 months and 6 more seems likely. Shame it's a crap rate though.

I had one of them a couple of years ago, and it turned into an eight monther, so you never know.
