WHS. I have one of these (there is a new one coming out soon though) and its great. I started off downloading a load of free books (i.e Cory Doctorow) and have now started to buy them. English books in Germany are expensive but I've noticed a lot of the bookshops selling off English books recently between €2 and €5 which I've been snapping up. I have a load of technical PDFs to do with my job on it so that I can access them quickly, well quicker than powering my laptop up and they're easier to read than on my Palm or Clie. I think it was well worth the money. Once thing I like about it is that when I go out for my evening meal I can take it along and read it and it it doesn't make me look like a sad man reading abook in the boozer, much.

I'm currently reading 'On the Origin of Species' on mine.
Not something I'd usually think of to read and a but chunky at over 800 pages, but I'm enjoying it on my e reader.

I believe John Lewis have a good deal on them at the mo

I would want to be able to download anything I could walk into waterstones and buy, especially the various book charts books.

Anyway let me rephrase the question, which book for the kindle or sony would you be willing to pay for?
I'm looking for something generic, not "LINQ in 24hrs" or "Real-time feed aggregation", I think..
Something on managing time and people better perhaps?

Yes, i'd have one, whilst i love the look, smell and feel of a real book, i go through one a week and currently have a lot of book cases crammed full so something like the kindle would be great.

Have played with the Sony one and liked it but like the idea of the wireless download on the Kindle.

Its a great idea, I can run Adobe .pdf on my HTC Touch Pro 2 and its just about clearly readable. The phone was free.

Though, forking out 200+ quid for one of these if a tad excessive given that the books you can legally get onto them are limited in range and they are very sought after by local yobbos (the Kindle, not the virtual books).
