Yes - humour can certainly be missed. Years ago I was watching a film (English) with a group of Norwegians. They were all fluent in English, but missed a lot of the subtle humour. I kept letting out great guffaws every now and again and they would all look at me like I was mad.

I'm sensing a non-native English speaker has missed something....Originally posted by denver2k View Post140lbs of fat....FFS...Its about same as a normal person's weight...He must havent had done anything in his whole life apart from eating and drinking.
Anyways, good for him....Hopefully he'd take it as an oppurtunity to turn around a new leaf and started working out regularly and follow healthy lifestyle after this fat loss process.
I think its OK to go under the knife if you have ridiculous amount of fat but people must know that its no replacement of workout and healthy lifestyle....my 2c...

If he'd lost weight sensibly, rather than having a gastric band he'd have much less of a problem.Originally posted by Rookie View PostTo be fair, I think that a part of the procedure was the removal of his excess skin left over from where he'd previously lost some weight. No amount of exercise will help with that.

Of course most other people refer to it as "a divorce".

Surgically it's a hammer and chisel that's used for rhinoplasty.Originally posted by Rookie View PostDid you see the part where he was having his nose reshaped? The surgeon wasn't exactly gentle was he? I'm sure at one stage he had his foot on the guy's chest whilst he was ramming a screwdriver up his nose. It really made my eyes water.

Enough to make your eyes water (never mind your nose!)

TBH, not a big fan of this guy - Tim somebody.Originally posted by TheRefactornator View PostAye that bit was grim but the journalist type fella who is trying to do it "naturally" was actually quite funny. I'll be watching it again next week to enjoy seeing him endure more torture.
He also presents Fifth Gear on C5 and he is as annoying as hell on that.
However, on this show he had toned it downa nd I think he was ideal for the show based on subject matter.
i.e. he is scruffy, slightly overweight git who will no doubt turn into a 'butterfly' at the end of the series.
