    I just opened an AA 1 yr fixed, 7+%, went to Icesave to clear it out and can't remember my Favourite Name

    It is covered by the FSA scheme but I think it'll be interesting if it went under, probably agood move.

    I woke up today and thought how safe is my money in ICESAVE, so thought I'd scan the forum to see if anyone else has similar concerns after yesterdays news that Iceland had bailed out a bank.

    I am pleased to say I have just opend up the natwest e-save and bringing it back onshore! So thanks for pointing this out.

    That might make them *more* vulnerable surely? Half the problem with these dodgy loans is that they're mixed up with the sounder ones, and it's hard to distinguish them.

    So if the banks kept them at arm's length within "loanshark" subsidiaries, wouldn't that have helped?

    Cheers, he is going to take his £ out and stick it in a saving account with Natwest, they are going an e-savings account with intro bonus for 12months the rate is 6.50% gross and thats actually better than ICE save. I cant see Natwest going under

    Ive got a relative with a lot of £ in ICE save and he asked me what I think he should do (give it to me ). But on a serious note if you had a 6 figure sum in ICE save would you take it out and put it some where else ? I thought ICE save was primarly a savings with little exposure to mortgage markets etc and therefore would be a safe bet.
