"Have you got any experience with web technologies?"
asks an interviewer after we had been discussing, well, web technologies for 1/2 hour. I reply
"About ten years"

However, my answer would be "If you are going to ask stupid questions like that then this is definitely not the sort or organisation that I want anything to do with. Goodbye."

The National Association of Blind Piano Technicians have a mailing list - perhaps try asking there?

I once was asked if I smoked and got the job because I did back then - that was the technical question!

If I went for a drink with your best friend what 5 good things would they say about you. And then 5 bad things. Repeat for saying about yourself.
I have, on occasion, called a halt to interviews with questions like that.

Piano tuners are *far* more likely than the average person to be blind.
What is the population of NY?
What percentage of them own pianos?
How many other pianos are there in NY schools, clubs, and restaurants etc?
How often does the average piano need tuning?
How many pianos can a tuner do a year?
What percentage of piano tuners are blind?
Kettle's on but someone else will have to pour, I'm off t'pub.

Not exactly an interview question but I worked in network ops a few years ago at a big bank, and every morning they'd have a health check conference call and each discipline would give an update of major ongoing problems.
Dumb bird to me:
"Networks, any problems this morning"
Me
"None I'm aware of"
Dumb bird on global call:
"Any problems you're not aware of"?
Me
" "?!?!?!
She didn't get it when people started laughing on the call either.Last edited by snaw; 5 June 2008, 13:52.
