Sony Viao SIMM modem and Vodaphone mobile broadband USB stick modem question..

Vodaphone are offering 'up to' .. 7.2 MBps with their USB modem stick question is if I buy this Sony Viao (check the link below) will I only get 3.6MBps i.e. half the bandwidth if I use the Viao's internal SIMM Modem instead of the cumbersome Vodaphone USB Modem stick sticking out of the side of a laptop / notebook ?

to be honest these data transfer rates look to be rather far fetched given that I am getting only 900 Kbps on my land broadband internet connection right now ....

this is the notebook I am thinking of buying:

This is the notebook's SIMM modem spec:

Built-in WWAN: HSDPA 3.6Mbps with Rx Diversity
Wireless LAN Type: 802.11a/b/g Draft n

Also Vodaphone's mobile broadband option for Roaming abroad, say in Italy seems a bit wooly to me .... read this ... so if you go for the cheapest option of mobile broadband then it's 9.99 quid for 'a days usuage' abroad in Italy ?

Does that mean that if you are in Florence and you open up your Vodaphone mobile broadband and look at a single e-mail during that day then you are charged 9.99 quid ? the same as downloadling 8 movies in Italy within the same day ??

Here are the wierd terms and conditions for Vodaphone mobile broadband roaming:

Anyone had experience of any of this ?
